*Brown Rice Syrup used- this refined and concentrated sweetener is worse than sugar for dogs and humans alike.

*Selenium Yeast- a product derived from brewers yeast which can be harmful to dogs.

From this table, we can see a clear difference between the two companies before we even take a look at the active ingredient list.

PetHonesty took a route in their packaging that is quite contradictory to their brand’s catch which is honesty.

The company preaches its “PetHonesty Promise–When you buy from PetHonesty, you’re getting high quality soft chews with all of the good and none of the bad. This means no wheat, corn, dairy, artificial sweeteners, or chemicals”. This promise is certainly one not kept as one of the first ingredients on the long list is microcrystalline cellulose–a chemical compound derived from wood pulp to act as a filler for their product. Their quality is something also up for further explanation as the company fails to mention where or what they are sourcing their ingredients from. For instance, they go into no detail about their omega source which is one of the most important factors of a dog multivitamin.

Another cautionary factor of PetHonesty’s Multivitamin is its extensive list of ingredients. Whether buying a supplement for yourself or your pet, you are going to want to buy supplements with a minimal ingredient list to ensure you are getting what you or your pet needs without fillers, chemicals, or other unnecessary ingredients. PetHonesty’s ingredient list consists of almost 60 ingredients, 39 of which are not recognized as essential nutrients by the Association of American Feed Control Officials, which is of course explained in the label’s fine print.

Of PetHonesty’s large list of ingredients, we found 7 ingredients that under no circumstance should be in a dog multivitamin. This includes the ingredients bolded in the table above that are considered to be fillers, unsafe, or even toxic to dogs, along with one other nitrate.

At Balanced Breed, we have stayed true to our promise which is to care for your pet as much as our own. This is why our multivitamin maintains a minimal ingredient list. With 22 ingredients total, only 6 of which are inactive and transparently labeled. You are given peace of mind knowing that we have provided the essential vitamins your dog needs–without the stuff they don’t need. We NEVER use fillers or ingredients that could be considered harmful or toxic to dogs. We ALWAYS use ingredients that are the highest of quality, sourced, and manufactured right here in the United States.

Active Ingredient Comparison Balanced Breed Vs. PetHonesty

Now let’s look at the active ingredient list, you are going to see on the label of both Balanced Breed and PetHonesty.

Below we are going to go through the list of key ingredients of a dog multivitamin and why they are important for your furry friend’s health and finish with a side-by-side comparison of these ingredients for PetHonesty and Balanced Breed.

Essential ingredients for a dog multivitamin:

Glucosamine

A naturally occurring substance in your dog's body for the purpose of keeping your dog’s bones and joints lubricated and working properly.

Taurine

Improves your dog’s cardiovascular health

Folic Acid

Essential for your dog’s metabolic functions.

Chondroitin Sulfate (porcine)

Provides even more joint support!

Probiotic Blends

Help your dog digest its food, absorb nutrients, and maintain a strong immune system.

Omegas

Important for providing energy, absorbing vitamins, processing hormones, reducing inflammation, and aiding brain and heart health for your dog. Omegas are great for promoting a balanced diet for anyone!

Vitamin C

Powerful antioxidant that eliminates free radicals in the body of your dog and can even help with inflammation and cognitive functions.

Vitamin E

Conclusion

The comparison between the two companies has made it apparent that Balanced Breed and PetHonesty do not share the same values whatsoever.

At Balanced Breed, we care for your pets as much as our own. That is why we make our labels completely transparent and pack our multivitamins with the best ingredients that your dog needs.

It’s unclear what’s in Pethonesty and what you are really getting in your dog’s multivitamin. The essential ingredients for a dog multivitamin are either missing, insufficient, or unmeasured on the PetHonesty packaging.

Furthermore, PetHonesty has added fillers, artificial flavors, sweeteners, chemicals, and toxins in the 10-for-1 Multivitamin although their packaging promises otherwise.

When buying a supplement for your dog look out for long lists of ingredients, fillers, and dangerous ingredients like Xylitol, Pea Fiber, Vitamin D, Iron, Brewer's yeast, sugars, meat by-products, bone meal, BHT, BHA, Ethoxyquin, and Calcium.

At Balanced Breed, we promise to NEVER use any harmful ingredients, fillers, drugs, or chemicals in our products. We care about your dog, so we ALWAYS use the best, natural ingredients for them, sourced right here in the USA.

Luckily, if you have already bought from PetHonesty, they have a 100% Money Back Guarantee so you can use that cash to make the switch, pay less, and give your dog more with Balanced Breed.

My dog can’t stand the flavors of pethonesty. I tried them prior to balanced breed and he would barley touch it. I had to wrap the vitamin in ham or shove a finger full of peanut butter down his throat with the vitamin on the inside and it was just no good.

he takes balanced breed easy and effortlessly

I def do not want to purchase something from pet honesty after reading the comparison chart and TBH the flavors for their brand sound disgusting. My dog would probably throw it up lol
